Married for nearly 42 years, hard work and honouring family were cornerstones of Harold and Audrey Ebert's life together. Harold and Audrey had five children, and their only son Curtis passed away too soon as just a young man. Harold's career as a Steam Engineer took the family to live in a number of countries while the children were growing up, including Chile and Iran. Closer to home, Harold and Audrey spent many years in Granisle, where they enjoyed boating and fishing on Babine Lake.
It was a wish of Audrey's that their family's legacy help support young people reach their full potential. This award is one of a series of three annual awards which will honour the memory of Harold, Audrey, and Curtis. As Audrey loved to cook and have her family close, this award is for a young mother in the Pro-Cook program, or another field of study leading to a career in the service of others. Audrey was also a productive gardener who loved to grow not only food but bright and fragrant flowers, particularly Begonias. Applicants must upload a few short paragraphs (500 words max) outlining their general career plans and life goals.
The two other awards in this series are for Power Engineering honouring Harold's career, and an award in Heavy Duty Mechanics to help one young man complete the training that Curtis was unable to pursue. |
