Description | Married for nearly 42 years, hard work and honouring family were cornerstones of Harold and Audrey Ebert's life together. Harold and Audrey had five children, and their only son Curtis passed away too soon as just a young man. Harold's career as a Steam Engineer took the family to live in a number of countries while the children were growing up, including Chile and Iran. Closer to home, Harold and Audrey spent many years in Granisle, where they enjoyed boating and fishing on Babine Lake. It was a wish of Audrey's that their family's legacy help support young people reach their full potential. This award is one of a series of three annual awards which will honour the memory of Harold, Audrey, and Curtis. In memory of Harold's career as a Steam Engineer, this award is open to any student in Power Engineering 3rd or 4th class. Applicants must upload a few short paragraphs (500 words max) outlining their general career plans and life goals. The two other awards in this series are for a young mother in honour of Audrey's role as a caregiver, and an award in Heavy Duty Mechanics to help one young man complete the training that Curtis was unable to pursue. |
