Fun loving and energetic, Marguerite Hicks was a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on February 1, 2021 after a brief battle with kidney cancer at the age of 81. She was an avid world traveler, having visited dozens of countries after retiring from her occupation as a bus driver for people with disabilities.
Marguerite was an active member of the P.E.O., a philanthropic organization that promotes the advancement of women through education. She also loved to volunteer her time for various sporting events: the 2015 Prince George Winter Games, the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, and numerous BC Senior Games, to name a few.
Her family has created the Marguerite Hicks Memorial Award to honour her lifelong commitment to philanthropy and volunteerism. |
