Name Devyn Flesher Arts and Gender Studies Memorial Bursary
Description Devyn Flesher was a mother, daughter, sister, wife, writer, teacher & feminist. She was a passionate advocate for equal rights and for social justice. She empowered those in her life, especially women from the time she was a young girl. She was smart and funny, frank and wise. Among a host of achievements, she attained her Master’s Degree in Gender Studies and taught at the College of New Caledonia. She was devoted to her family and had a profound effect on those around her and the accolades after her death demonstrated how powerful an influence she had been on so many - friends, colleagues, students and family. The Devyn Flesher Art and Gender Studies Memorial Bursaries were created in her honour and to celebrate her love of education, social justice and gender equality studies.

Eligibility These bursaries are open to first or second year, full-time students registered in the Associate of Arts Degree (preference to Concentration of either Aboriginal Studies, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology) or Women’s Studies & Gender Relations Diploma programs at the College of New Caledonia, Prince George Campus.
