Devyn Flesher was a mother, daughter, sister, wife, writer, teacher & feminist. She was a passionate advocate for equal rights and for social justice. She empowered those in her life, especially women from the time she was a young girl. She was smart and funny, frank and wise. Among a host of achievements, she attained her Master’s Degree in Gender Studies and taught at the College of New Caledonia. She was devoted to her family and had a profound effect on those around her and the accolades after her death demonstrated how powerful an influence she had been on so many - friends, colleagues, students and family.
The Devyn Flesher Art and Gender Studies Memorial Bursaries were created in her honour and to celebrate her love of education, social justice and gender equality studies. |
| Eligibility |
These bursaries are open to first or second year, full-time students registered in the Associate of Arts Degree (preference to Concentration of either Aboriginal Studies, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology) or Women’s Studies & Gender Relations Diploma programs at the College of New Caledonia, Prince George Campus. |
