Name Tom Simpson Memorial Endowment Bursary
Description For many years Tom Simpson’s name and face has been familiar to those within the automotive industry. Community associates had a connection with Tom from his time working at Ford dealerships, owning Benchmark Automotive, teaching various courses at CNC and his involvement with automotive organizations like the Automotive Retailers Assoc., Canadian Independent Automotive Assoc., and Industry Training Authority (ITA). Tom’s time in the automotive industry spanned many years and even more developments. He was an advocate for the automotive industry like no other. He wanted, more than anything, to see up and coming automotive technicians receive the best possible training that is available. Tom was a driving force behind a number of initiatives in the north, putting CNC on the map as the best Automotive Technician Program in the Province of British Columbia.

Eligibility The Bursary is open to full-time, Foundation level CNC, or CTC students registered in the Automotive Service Technician program. Application requirements: 1. CNC online Bursary application, 2. 300 – 500 word typed essay outlining; * the passion and commitment the student has in choosing the Automotive Service Technician profession, and * why the student needs financial assistance in order to pursue their dream.
