This scholarship is offered to honour the memory of Dr. Larry Breckon, a much loved and well respected Physician who spent 35 years practicing in Prince George. Larry arrived in Prince George in 1975, starting his career as a Family Physician. He was much loved as a Family Doctor because he truly gave the best of himself to his patients: he was caring and compassionate with an easy-going, approachable manner, and fantastic sense of humor.
In 1986, Larry made the difficult decision to leave his Family Practice and specialize in Radiology. After finishing his training, he returned in 1990 to the community that he loved so much. Larry was a wonderful mentor, colleague and friend, who gave generously of his advice, expertise and time. He was a passionate advocate for continuing education, quality patient care and cutting-edge diagnostic imaging equipment.
