Name Northern Family Health Society Scholarship
Description For more than 25 years, the Northern Family Health Society (NFHS) provided programs focused on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. These programs were designed to educate, support and promote healthier pregnancies, children, families and communities. Due to changes in the population, health-care needs and restructuring in government funding, the NFHS disbanded in 2012. Remaining funds are to be used in a way that supports the mission of NFHS and will be awarded as College of New Caledonia scholarships and bursaries.

Eligibility Open to full-time, first year or second year students based on the following criteria: • Applicants must complete an online CNC Application for Scholarships • Applicants must be attending the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Advanced Diploma program, Aboriginal Early Childhood Education program, Early Childhood Education program, Social Service Worker program, Nursing program, or Licensed Practical Nurse program. Preference will be given to students in the Fetal Alcohol Disorder (FASD) Advanced Diploma program. • Applicants must submit a 300-500 word essay focusing on how the FASD program will enhance their employment opportunities. • Applicants must achieve academic proficiency with a minimum 2.67 GPA.
